Best Shops around El Born, Barcelona

Art outside Project

Apart from cocktail slugging we also did
a lot of shopping during our stay in El Born. It´s the perfect place to do it: the streets are so tiny the sun can´t even get in, so it´s not that hot. Yet. I remember those same small streets getting hot and awfully smelly in August. Anyway, this was June and all was right with the world.

For starters

La Cerería
Baixada de Sant Miquel 3
Is it a shop? Is it a cafe? Well, it´s a little bit of both. There´s violin maker, you can buy cd´s and oddly shaped musical instruments here, but they also have healthy fruit shakes, granizados and salads. Perfect for a bit of a detox after a long drinking night!

Skull at Project

Suspect
Passatge del Crédit, 8

I liked this shop so much I wanted to live here. Everything from a skull with little chrystals in its eye sockets to postcards, art work and knife shaped necklaces. Cool.

Lomo photo. Pretty cool huh?

Lomography shop Barcelona
Carrer Mirallers, 2
¿Que diablos es lomografía? (“what the hell is Lomography?”)
Well, it´s all based around the old Russian Lomo camera. Their motto is “Don´t think, just shoot”. Basically, it´s about taking casual photographs with one of those cool lomo camera´s. And I badly want one. Or two.
Check out Lomography.com. You´ll want one too.

Food Market Rambla

Food Market on the Rambla
I know, I know, everybody always goes to the food court on the Rambla. Still, it´s a great place to ogle weird fruit, enormous fish and, best of all, try a little bit of everything. Apparently all the chefs in Barcelona mosey down to the food market every morning, do their shopping and hang out at the little food places, so it´s got to be great.
