Chateau de Lantic: don´t bring the dog!
Chateau de Lantic: let´s not.
Once again, allowing a dog and being petfriendly are two very different things. I do get it, pretty castle, don´t want to see it wrecked, but hey, you can just say No to dogs, right? Once you say Pets are allowed, you can´t get all hot and bothered when people actually do bring a pet.

Chateau de Lantic is near Bordeaux and it´s pretty nice to look at. I´ve seen nicer chateaux, but it´s a decent size and they´ve gone all out on the rooms. But oh boy, the owner is one very grumpy French lady!
Internet, of course, didn´t work in our room, even though they all swore it did, (“it worked yesterday”) and then we had to sit in the dining room, where at first we couldn´t get any internet either, and she was just very, very unhelpful and pissed off.
Then when I had to get up early in the morning to let the dog out, she started screaming that it was crapping in her yard. I had my poop scoop bags clutched in my barely awake hand! I´m not a morning person at the best of times, but this was really bad: screaming French hotel ladies, before I´ve even had my coffee. Yikes.
The rooms look nice, so probably if you are a morning person, and you don´t want internet nor have a dog, she might be more pleasant, but I wouldn´t hurry down there.
