Restaurante El Pantano, Lake Viñuela: very nice indeed!

After the rudeness we encountered at Hotel Viñuela, El Pantano was a welcome change! The waiters are very kind and dogs are allowed, albeit only on the balcony. The view of the wonderfully blue lake is much better here than at Hotel Viñuela as well!
The menu offers a lot of choice, we had a bit of everything, including chicken a la brasa (great), fried rosado fish, gazpacho soup, croquetas, albondigas, a huge salad and a couple of lovely desserts.
Including drinks and coffee it set us back a little under 20 euros per person: not bad at all!

Pantano’s is OK; the food can be a tad boring and ’samey’. We had cold meatballs served there once and they took it back an changed the meal (didn’t just reheat it). The Hotel Vinuela is light years away in quality, but you’ll get a better welcome at Pantano’s. Remember, always eat at weekends (Sunday preferably) since then more people will attend the food will be better; weekdays will result in some food disasters we find.
