Restaurant Sultan – Granada
When in Granada, eat Moorish!
So after a long day of sight seeing we ended up at Sultan in calle Elvira.
It looks a bit run down, and in this off, off season there weren’t very many people there, but the welcome was hearty. The tables look like they’re intended for Snowwhite’s dwarves, and I had a bit of trouble sitting down in a skirt.
My husband picked lovely dishes: humus and Arab bread, followed by a lovely lentil soup with a hint of Morrocan mint and a skewer of lamb. I picked badly, a watery harira chickpea soup followed by a fish tajin.
The fish tajin may have been lovely, but it was covered in boiled carrot, my arch nemesis. I’ll eat almost anything, brains, pigs feet, worms, but boiled carrot; blegh. It’s just icky. So I nibbled on my husband’s food. Horrible man, always picks the best thing on the menu. On the other hand: he always let’s me share his food. Lovely man. I should really order the same, but that’d be cheating. And a bit dull.
So in conclusion: if you order the right stuff, this is a nice restaurant. Not the greatest, but nice.
